A new artist we first shone a light on last year on Pop On Down is back with a brand new single and she just keeps getting better.
Lisa Keane is a Dublin based singer/songwriter. Inspired by artists such as Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers and HAIM, Lisa blends elements from different genres to create her sound.
Previous support for Lisa has come from BBC Across the Line, Cork’s Red FM, KCLR, The
Last Mixed Tape and Hot Press. Lisa was named ‘One to Watch’ by Spin 1038 following the
release of her third single “Run” earlier this year.
Her new single “Love Me” is released today and is a contemporary pop song. The lyrics of the song explore the uncertainty and risk involved with falling in love. The production of the song was inspired by artists such as Taylor Swift, Lorde and Lennon Stella. The song was written and recorded by Lisa.
“I have always loved music and singing since a young age. As a kid, I would put on
home concerts for my family and make them listen to me singing and dancing around to
Britney Spears songs. I began songwriting around the age of 13 after my Mam brought
me to record a cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘White Horse’ at Contact Studios in Tallaght for
my birthday. At the studio, I learnt about a music course called Suburban Sounds that
they run for teenagers. The course is focused around songwriting and live performance.
This really kick-started my interest in songwriting and I’m so grateful I got the
opportunity to take part in Suburban Sounds during my secondary school years.”
Lisa is proving to be one to watch on the Irish music scene and this new single just adds to that statement. We can’t wait to see what’s next for Lisa but for now, listen to ‘Love Me’ below and on all streaming platforms.
